*Michele B. Moon, (a longtime member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators), has created original artwork, studying under artist Geraldine McKeown, to accompany this historical novel, Pushthrough, including a folk-art map depicting the village and highlighting focal chapters within the novel, displayed in the SCBWI 2011’s NYC Artist’s Showcase in Manhattan.
During her collegiate years, in addition to legal studies and the classics, she was invited by the Department Chair of English Literature to partake in Honor’s Children’s Literature courses, Extensive Creative Writing Classes, and The Political Novel, meeting guest lecturers, which she completed with high A’s. A “Wordsworthian” at heart, the highlight of Michele’s literary career thus far, beyond Newfoundland, is touring Anne of Green Gables in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, and the home of Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth’s in The Lake District, England, including Shakespeare’s Stratford upon Avon. I have enjoyed meeting such diverse authors as:  David Kirk, Katherine Patterson, Richard Peck, Henry Winkler and Lin Oliver, Matthew Pearle, Adam Gopnik, Julie Andrews, Jeff Shaara, and James B. Steele.
In addition to Pushthrough, Michele Moon has several children’s books ready for a publisher’s review:
-
Gardener McTavish’s Butterfly Ball
-
Winter’s Magic on Pop’s Pond
-
Cranky Crabs Under the Bay
-
The Ghosts are Out on Halloween Night
-
Ulah’s Tea Tree and The Missing Silver Spoon
-
Thread Bear
-
Lucinda’s Waakoozi Eggs and the Royal Cake.
